Why print a run rather than mould it
- No tooling: the first part costs the same unit price as the tenth, and the design can change between two batches with nothing thrown away.
- The lead time is the printing time, not the machining of a mould.
- Every part can differ: one version per customer, a number, a colour, with no setup surcharge.
- The limit is throughput: beyond a few hundred parts a month, injection becomes cheaper again. We say so when that is the case.
What a run costs, in figures
The same electronics case in PLA costs 178.42 MAD delivered ordered alone, and 967.42 MAD for 10 copies in one order, that is 96.74 MAD per part. The difference comes from the service fee and delivery, paid once per order, and the discount on machine time. These prices are computed by our quote engine when this page loads.
| From | Discount |
|---|---|
| 10 parts | 5% |
| 50 parts | 10% |
The discount applies to machine time and finish, not to material, which is charged close to its cost. The full calculation is in the guide How much does 3D printing cost in Morocco.
How a batch order works
- Drop the file on the online quote, choose the material and enter the quantity: the total and the price per part show at once.
- The parts are spread over our build plates and printed in batches; the run's machine time is stated on the quote.
- The run ships in one or several parcels depending on weight, delivery included, in 2 to 3 days after printing ends.
- For an invoice in your company's name, a contact person and regular orders, see the Pro page.
Before a run, order one part on its own: it is the surest way to validate the design, and the validated file is used as is for the run.
Identical parts from one batch to the next
Every part in a run comes from the same file, the same material and the same settings. Dimensions repeat from one part to the next; what varies is the layer texture, specific to each part. A tight assembly is designed with clearance, and checked on the first part.
- Walls of at least 0.8 mm: thinner ones are not reliable across a run.
- Up to 256 mm per axis. A large part can be split, but that multiplies the assemblies across the run.
- PLA indoors, PETG or ASA for a heated or exposed part, TPU for seals and flexible parts: the Materials page gives each one's price per gram.
What our customers have printed in runs
- Electronics enclosures for a product pre-series or a fleet of devices.
- Jigs, fixtures and workshop tools, one per station.
- Replacement parts no longer sold for a fleet of identical vehicles or machines.
- Accessories, brackets and adapters shipped with a product.
