3D printing without a printer, without a file, or from a photo

No 3D printer, no file, only a photo or a broken part? The three situations you can be in when ordering in Morocco, and what to send in each.

You do not need a printer: a 3D file (STL, OBJ, 3MF) sent to a workshop is enough, and the part is delivered to you. Without a file, there are three routes: download a model that already exists, have the part modelled, or send us photos and measurements. A photo alone cannot be printed; there is always a 3D model in between.

The prices and limits quoted in this guide are read from our quote engine when the page loads: they are what an order pays today.

You have a file but no printer

This is the simplest case, and it all happens online.

  1. Drop your file on the online quote. Accepted formats are STL, OBJ, 3MF.
  2. Choose the material, colour, finish and quantity. The delivered price shows in a few seconds and updates with every change.
  3. Pay online. The part is printed in our Agadir workshop.
  4. You receive it in 2 to 3 days, with delivery included in the price.

An order costs at least 105.00 MAD delivered. For real figures on real parts, see How much does 3D printing cost in Morocco.

You have no file: look for an existing model first

Many everyday objects have already been modelled and shared: brackets, cases, hooks, spare parts for well-known appliances, accessories. Printables, Thingiverse and MakerWorld are the largest libraries, and you can search by object name or by appliance reference.

  • Download the STL, OBJ, 3MF file, not an image or an archive of photos.
  • Read the model's licence. Some authors forbid commercial use, which matters if you resell the part.
  • Check the dimensions before ordering. We print up to 256 mm per axis; beyond that, the part has to be cut and assembled.

From a photo or a broken part

A photo holds neither the dimensions nor the hidden side of the object, so no printer can start from it directly. Photos with measurements, however, are enough for someone to redraw the part. That is what we do on the Custom project page.

For the request to succeed first time, send:

  • several sharp photos, from the front, the side and above, with a ruler or a calliper in the frame;
  • the dimensions that matter: length, width, height, hole diameters, hole spacing;
  • what the part has to withstand: load, heat, outdoor use, contact with water;
  • the quantity you want and, if you have it, the reference of the original appliance.

The form takes a description and a link to your photos. We come back to you with a price before anything is made. If the part is broken, keep the pieces: they give the dimensions the photo does not show.

Making an object without knowing how to model

For a 3D-printed business card, no software is needed: the card generator starts from your name, your contact details and a few style choices, builds the model and shows its price.

For any other object, the drawing is a job of its own. If you want to learn it, Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes; the guide Preparing a file for 3D printing then explains how to export a file the quote accepts.

What to know before ordering

  • We print in FDM, by depositing filament. Layers stay visible before finishing.
  • Walls under 0.8 mm do not come out cleanly.
  • Very small details, such as a gaming miniature, need resin, and we do not print resin.
  • The right material depends on the use: the Materials page compares them.
